Jual biji DRACANEA DRACO
----------------------
Dracaena draco, known as the Dragon's Blood Tree, is a plant very much like an agave. It is native to the Canary Islands.
Quite slow growing, usually taking approximately 10-15 years (or more) to reach about 1 metre before its first flowering. It is the flowering that causes the stem to branch, which is does with regularity (usually about every ten years, possibly less in cultivation), creating the much-divided crown ('hundred-headed' dragon) so characteristic of specimens several decades old.
The hundreds of small, fragrant, creamy-white flowers are borne in branched spike. The fruits are pea-sized, bright orange, and very fleshy.
It's called a Dragon's Blood Tree, because the red latex material or sap is excised and mixed with another compound to make the red lustre varnish used to coat violins.
Dragon’s Blood trees grow in frost free areas and prefer a warm, open, sunny aspect with good drainage. It's a hardy tree and can live for well over 400 years. Makes a great container plant however does better in the garden where it becomes multi-branched.
For sale is a packet of fresh seeds.
