Agave victoriae-reginaea, known as the Queen Victoria Agave, is one of the prettiest Agaves and was named after the English Queen Victoria. It originates from Mexico.

Slow growing succulent rosettes to 45cm in diameter, most populations are solitary, but some offset heavily. It is noted for its streaks of white on sculptured geometrical leaves. The markings are generally along leaf keels or margins, giving a sort of polyhedral appearance. Each leaf has a sharp terminal spine.

This slow growing agave might take 40 years before blooming, the flower stalk is 3-5 metres tall with pale green to cream flowers.

Prefers full sun and is hardy to -11°C.

Makes a great container plant.
